I am a Freelance Music Facilitator.

Everyone learns differently. In addition to establishing good keyboard technique, I use a range of physical warm-ups, games and percussion exercises to ensure students get a broad musical experience.

As a music facilitator I have a special interest in creating original vocal work, and in devising vocal arrangements of songs from a range of genres including folk, rock, soul & traditional music.

Hello All,

Have  an adult piano student starting on Monday. He's already in a band but wants to add keyboard skills to his instrument arsenal - looking forward to trying out some MF learning with him. Will let you know how it goes!

Hi Roisin,

Sounds fun. I find lots of band members want to play everything! My daughters band have proper rehearsals for their gigs and sometimes "just for fun" sessions where they each play a different part/instrument in their band. "The best of Craic" !

Just wondering if you are working with any schools at the moment in Belfast?

Hey Sarah,

I'm not currently working with schools. I don't suppose a school would pay for a freelancer like me when they already have music teachers in their school. I would really love to work with groups in schools. If I can find a way into school working, I'd definitely do it. I delivered a session today which involved alot of singing and creating music on tuned bells. I stole bits of your warm up, so thank you! I really enjoyed it and the participants seemed to as well, so hopefully there will be more work like that in the new year. I have another singing session next week and I'm hoping to have someone record/film it. If it's relevant I'll stick it on here. Hope all is going well with you.

Best,

Róisín

All sounds good Roisin. I'll keep you posted on any schools activity in Belfast.

If you have any school age students why not take a look at "The Next Brit Thing" on NUMU and see if any student wants to take part. Its a quick turn around as the closing date is 16th Dec.

good to hear from you

Sarah
